The small print, in plain words
Everything that decides the £500, on one page. Version 1. If anything here is not clear, ask me before you pay.
£500, once, before we start. It is the programme fee for 12 weeks of coaching. Nothing else.
Everything the challenge page says you get: your 12 week plan in the app, your daily calories and protein, the full V1 Food Guide, a written reply from me every Monday, five check ins, and your weight and photos on day 1 and day 84, with your weigh ins on days 1 to 3 and 82 to 84 verified on video.
- Hit the target. Your start weight is the average of your morning weigh ins on days 1, 2 and 3 and your finish weight the average of days 82, 83 and 84, both on your home scales under the conditions in rule 2. On those six mornings you send me a 30 second video the same morning: scales on a hard floor showing zero, you step on, show the number and say the date. If a video is missing or does not show that, the next qualifying morning is used. The target is at least 6kg if you weigh 85kg or more on day 1. If you weigh less, we agree your target on the start call, capped at 0.5kg a week, and I confirm it in writing before day 1.
- Weigh in every morning on the same digital scales on a hard floor, after the toilet and before food or drink, in the same light clothing or none, and log it in the app before 10am. On travel days use whatever scales you have and mark the entry travel. You may miss 3 mornings across the 12 weeks for any reason. Days 1 to 3 and 82 to 84 must all be there.
- Train and log at least 3 sessions a week.
- Log your food on at least 5 days out of 7 each week.
- Hit your step target on at least 6 days out of 7 each week.
- Send your check in every Monday by 9am. You may miss one across the 12 weeks.
- Do all 5 check ins: start, then weeks 3, 6, 9 and 12. The start is a call. The others are a short call or a voice note exchange, whichever the week needs. A check in is missed if it has not happened within 7 days of the week it falls in, after I have offered times.
I can ask anyone for a live video weigh in on any morning with 30 minutes notice, and I do it with everyone once in the first two weeks so it is routine rather than an accusation. The app and your phone keep the record, and we read it together at the finish.
From time to time I will ask to share a win, a quote, a photo or your result on my website or social media, saying that you took part in the challenge. Each one is agreed with you in writing first. You can say no to any of them, and you can ask me to take anything down afterwards, which I will do within 7 days. Saying no never affects the £500.
Keep all seven rules and hit your target and the £500 comes back to you. You choose how. Cash: the full £500 back to the card you paid with, within 14 days of the finish, with no further conditions and no meeting required. Credit: the £500 comes off a 6 or 12 month coaching plan, spread evenly across every payment, so on a 6 month plan you pay about £137 a fortnight instead of £175. If you stop the plan early, the discount you have already had stays yours and the rest is not paid out. The plan can be cancelled with 14 days notice and has its own 14 day cancellation right. You can switch to the cash option up to your first discounted payment, and the cash option never expires.
The £500 does not come back. You keep your plan, your numbers, the Food Guide and your results to the end of the 12 weeks.
Adults aged 18 or over with a BMI of 25 or more who have 8kg or more to lose. I check this on the start call using your weight, height and photos, and if it is not right for you I say so and refund you in full before day 1. It is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of disordered eating, or are under medical care for a condition affected by diet or exercise. Individual results vary.
You have 14 days from the day you pay to cancel for any reason, by email to steven@v1coaching.com or with the form in your confirmation, and I refund you within 14 days to the card you paid with. Because you ask me at checkout to start straight away, if you cancel inside those 14 days you pay £5.95 for each day delivered (£500 across 84 days) and the rest comes back. After 14 days, clauses 5 and 6 decide the £500.
If you are ill for more than 3 days, tell me, and the daily rules pause for up to 7 days once in the 12 weeks; the finish date does not move. If you are ill in the final 7 days, your finish weight becomes the average of days 78 to 84. A medical event that stops you training for more than 2 weeks ends the challenge with a full refund of the fee, and you may join a later start. Travel days count for the daily weigh in rule on any scales; only home readings count towards your start and finish averages. If you are away for days 82 to 84, tell me by day 70 and your finish window becomes your last 3 home mornings in week 12 before you leave. If your cycle means your finish week may land on your period, tell me on the start call and we agree in writing before day 1 to use your average for days 78 to 84 instead. If your scales break, tell me the same day and we log the change in writing.
In the last 7 days you eat and drink normally: no water restriction, saunas, sweat suits, laxatives, diuretics or skipped meals before a weigh in, and no deliberate weight gain before day 1. If one of your last 3 mornings drops suddenly, more than 2% below your week 11 average, I will ask for one more morning after 48 hours of normal eating and that reading replaces it. Day 84 is the finish.
Where these rules are silent, the point goes your way. If I ever question a reading or a rule I tell you the same day and we settle it in writing within 48 hours, one of three ways: the reading stands, you weigh in once more under the conditions, or a seven day average is used. If you still disagree, email me within 7 days of the finish and we go through the logs together. The logs and videos have to be real. If they are not, the challenge ends and the £500 does not come back. These rules do not change after you pay.
The application asks about injuries, health conditions and medication so I can build your plan safely and check the challenge is right for you. You tick a separate box to agree to that, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing me, which ends the programme. I keep your health answers for 3 years after the challenge, the contract and refund record for 6 years, and your daily logs, weigh in records and photos for up to 3 years so that I can ask you, each time and in writing, before any result of yours is shared. You can ask me to delete them at any time. Trainerize, Stripe and Mailchimp process your details on my behalf. I am a coach, not a doctor, and I do not give medical advice. If you have a health condition or take prescribed medication, speak to your doctor before you start.
8 places per start date. Applications close on the date shown on the challenge page, and once that date is published it does not move. If a start is full, I offer you the next one.
A paid coaching programme with a refund you earn by meeting the conditions. It is not a bet, a competition or a prize draw. Nobody receives more than they paid and no one’s fee funds another’s refund.
